NNU Gym on Fire!

Yesterday evening the Northwest Nazarene University gymnasium caught fire. We just happened to be leaving the house about that time and followed the smoke to campus. It was a crazy scene. It seems as though we were not the only people that were drawn toward the smoke. The traffic was horrible everyone in town seemed to be in a couple block radius of the university. There were groups of people running down the road to get a better view. We managed to take a couple photos.

That’s so sad that the gym caught fire!!!! I love NNU, my sister is a student there, both my parents went there and i would love to go too. Its such a shame. I was on my way to go baby-sit and I saw smoke. So i went over there to check it out. I was so close to calling 911 because nothing was happening. No Firetrucks, police, or ambulence. Finally a police car came, still no firetruck. It was just me and the police and a few people that lived next to NNU. It’s still horrible. I mean this gym cost millions of dollars. Is there any info on how it started..?

Thanks for the comment Janae. You’re right it is very sad and I hope that after some investigation it turns out that the damage isn’t that bad. I have several friends that work there and I talked to them last night and they had heard it was a total loss and that the fire started in the weight room. It is all speculation at this time.
