Vinyl Pants
February 21st, 2008
I was recently re-introduced to the glorious world of vinyl. By vinyl I mean those old black records that our parents used to listen to. I used to listen to them as a child, my parents had a couple records that had songs that I recognized from the radio, but I didn’t recognize most of the artists. Recently through a friend of mine the wonders of vinyl have come alive to me again. So I went to my parents house and dug through a storage area and pulled out 2 large boxes of records. After thumbing through them I realized that I had found a gold mine of music. There were maybe 2 bands that I hadn’t heard of and most of the music was something that I would listen to.
There are several Doors, Beatles, and Bob Dylan albums which I am very excited about. The problem lies in the fact that I don’t have a functioning turntable. I’m so antsy to listen to the forgotten music but I guess I’ll just have to wait and keep checking the thrift stores for a turntable.

I’ve had the Hobbit on record for forever. I need to raid my Grandparents player and see if it still works. I think it’s just sat in their living room corner for years. If I bring it home this summer and it works, maybe I’ll let you borrow it (for a small fee of course
)
And I totally want to see the Vinyl Pants when you get them!

We’ve got a turntable too, and it works great–the problem is the wiring in the stereo is broken. If you can get sound, it goes in and out. Maybe I just need some genius with some spare time to rewire the antique.
And you’ll have to wear those vinyl pants some Friday…

Thanks for the Comments. Vinyl is just so much fun to listen to and to collect. It’s all in the hunt. Whether you’re looking for records or pants you can’t go wrong with vinyl.
